The one-year IGCSE programme for pupils aged 15-16 facilitates rapid academic development. Averaging 90% A*-C grades, the King’s Ely International one year IGCSE programme provides access to King’s Ely A Level courses.

Year 11 pupils study in small classes of 8-12, which have a focus on subject-specific language and vocabulary development. Students are tested regularly, given frequent feedback, and taught excellent exam technique. All students study within the Learning Habits Framework.

Our students study the most relevant, interesting and appropriate subjects. Focusing on five to eight IGCSEs, students have nine lessons of English and five lessons of each subject per week. Closely monitored and supported in their boarding houses, they work hard to achieve the results necessary for entry to King’s Ely Sixth Form.

A King’s Ely education emphasises the development of the whole person. All international students take part in a wide variety of co-curricular activities, both inside and outside the school, including charity work, an International Day and ‘teaching’ other students.

Early in Year 11, all eligible students are invited to apply to King’s Ely Sixth Form. Interviews with the Principal for Year 12 places are held in October.
