KING’S Ely is delighted to welcome the Ferio Saxophone Quartet to the Hayward Theatre on Friday (19).

The concert is free for anyone to attend and members of the public are most welcome.

Director of Music at King’s Ely Junior, Neil Porter-Thaw, said: “Since forming as a group last year, the Ferio Saxophone Quartet has built up a varied portfolio of music which includes new and exciting saxophone quartet works as well as the group’s own arrangements of chamber music from other mediums.

“One of the quartet, Ellie McMurray, was a pupil at King’s Ely Junior before going on to study at the Purcell School of Music and then at the Royal College of Music. All four members are keen ambassadors of the saxophone within an educational setting and will also be leading workshops for King’s Ely students earlier in the day. The evening’s concert will feature ensemble pieces that will have been prepared by King’s Ely students in the workshops.”

Starting at 7pm in the Hayward Theatre, the concert will last approximately one hour with no interval and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
