Esmeralda Salgado, our former Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), attended The Pearson National Teaching Awards UK Ceremony on November 26th.

As many of you will know, Esmeralda was announced a Silver winner in the ‘Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School’ category back in May. Although Esmeralda did not go on to win Gold, she and her husband, Chimmy, had a fantastic time at the ceremony, which was held at The Brewery in London.

Esmeralda said: “It was an amazing evening – a very special occasion with so many touching stories. I am so grateful to have won a Silver award. It is not my award, it is the King’s Ely MFL Department’s award!”

The Gold winner in Esmeralda’s category was Tara Hall from Fir Hale School in Sheffield.

Esmeralda left King’s in July as she, Chimmy and their daughters have relocated to Oxford. Best wishes to you all, Team Salgado – stay in touch!
