KING’S Ely Senior students Gemma Gow and Anna-Rose Sliwinski won tickets to meet the best-selling author Sir Terry Pratchett, who gave a talk at Ely Cathedral last week.

Sir Terry, who is renowned for his fantasy Discworld novels about the inhabitants of the city of Ankh Morpork, talked about his latest novel, Dodger, which is set in Victorian London, and about his life and career in general.

The tickets were kindly donated to the school by Topping and Company Booksellers in Ely as prizes for a writing competition.

The literature lovers also won signed copies of the book after impressing their English teachers with descriptions of their own fantasy worlds.
