PUPILS, staff and parents at King’s Ely Acremont and Nursery (KEAN) have raised more than £2,000 for the Children’s Society.

A cheque for a whopping £1,676.97 was presented to Jean Webb, who is a member of the charity’s Ely and district fundraising group, at King’s Ely’s Mid-Term Service at Ely Cathedral on Friday, February 10th.

The impressive sum was raised thanks to generous donations at KEAN’s carol service in December. A further £461 was raised when pupils took special collection boxes home with them over the Christmas break, plus an additional £191, accumulated as a result of a colourful non-uniform day held last term, raising a grand total of £2,328.97.

The Children’s Society is a UK-based charity which assists street children, disabled children, young refugees and children in trouble with the law. For more information, please visit www.childrenssociety.org.uk.
