LUCIE Clift did well to come in the top third of 330 finishers in the English Schools’ Cross Country Championships in Somerset on Saturday (17 March).
She completed the run in 104th place and was Cambridgeshire’s third fastest finisher, helping her home county to come a creditable eighteenth out of 42 county teams from all over England.
Coach Tom Kingsnorth said: “ This race was significantly shorter in distance than her UK Inter-Counties race the previous weekend and she is possibly more suited to the longer race. Back to back national championships represents a tough week but Lucie performed very well.”
