HOCKEY ace Alice Harris (15) has been selected to represent the Eastern region.

The Year 10 King’s Ely student will now train throughout the summer in Diss and Bury St Edmunds with the Junior Regional Performance Centre (JRPC).

Alice has been playing hockey at county level since she was 12 and is a member of the Ely City ladies team. She is also keen to become a professional player if the opportunity arises.

Chanre Bond, Head of Girls’ Games at King’s Ely Senior, said: “Alice is very open and receptive to learning. On the pitch she is highly skilful and has a lot of speed when running with the ball.”

A total of 11 girls from King’s Ely have played at county level or higher this year.

Chanre continued: “It has been a great year for hockey at King’s Ely and we hope that this success continues next year.”
