“Despite the week’s weather doing its best to dampen the children’s spirits, we have enjoyed a really productive time at school.

“The Year 8 groups of children who went to Wales have enjoyed (and one group is still enjoying!) a range of adventurous activities. Their exploits included coast steering, gorge-walking, night walks, wide games, climbing, abseiling and caving. Even wetter and windier than here in Ely, the activities were challenging but highly enjoyable. The week also saw the Year 8 children, based at school in Ely, heading off to Burghley House for an Art and History Trip and then a Forensics Challenge as a Science enrichment activity. Thursday saw some of our swim squad head off to Culford School for a gala and a Cathedral Service for all the children in school that day. Sunday will see our last adventurers from Year 8 returning to Ely and we look forward to hearing all their tales from the trip next week.

“Looking forwards to the next few days before the Easter holiday begins, we have Form Photographs on Monday and the Year 6 Trinity Exam Showcase also taking place. Tuesday will see the actual Trinity Exams happening and our KEJ Fastermind Final will close the day at school. Wednesday will see our Final Assembly and a Cathedral Service before school ends at 4pm, when all children should be collected please. Please also note that the school buses will leave at 4pm at the end of term.

“Whilst this is the final edition of Junior News for the term, school will be busy over the holiday with a Stayover for the Choristers taking place in Holy Week and our KEJ Ski Trip to Dimaro in Italy happening between 1st and 8th April.

“We anticipate many more exciting tales being shared following the holiday and in the meantime, after Wednesday, we wish you and your families a healthy and happy holiday.”
