“The week in school offered the children the opportunity to mark the arrival of Advent in many ways. Following last Sunday evening’s Advent Procession in Ely Cathedral, we set about preparing school for the celebrations to come at Christmas. The school enjoyed our Advent Eucharist Service, including the formal appointment of our Heads of House by the Principal on Wednesday morning. This significant service was the sign that Christmas and all our special events really are close by now – naturally, the children’s sense of anticipation is already building! To add to their excitement, we launched the Christmas Fair and the Christmas Postbox appeared too but, overshadowing both of those things, the tree went up and the crib scene arrived – alongside the growing 12 Days of Christmas collection for Ely Foodbank – all in our reception area.

“Whilst enjoying all that this season brings, we continue to study hard and aim high with the next set of grades being awarded at the end of term. On Monday evening there is the KEJ Christmas Concert in the Cathedral to look forward to, Legally Blonde for our older Juniors to enjoy towards the end of the week and then, the Festival of Carols Concert in the Cathedral for the Boy Choristers on Friday evening. Our penultimate week will certainly be a week to remember and we look forward to welcoming you in person if you are able to join us.

“In advance of the many special events for the children over the coming fortnight, I extend our gratitude for your support, donations to the children’s charitable endeavours and your enthusiastic attendance at their performances and the services. We look forward to honouring the children’s expectation of a really memorable, traditionally “fizzy” end to the term.

“With our best wishes for the weekend’s preparations for all that is to come.”
