FOLLOWING the success of the Year 11-13 Puppetry Masterclass earlier this term, our Director in Residence, Alexandra Moxon, ran one for Year 9 and 10 students on November 25th!

Miss Moxon said: “The group showcased a natural aptitude when working on this incredibly challenging skill set. They mastered the secrets of puppetry, including breath and focus, and graduated from puppets made from binbags to single-arm rod puppets.

“The students explored both mime and vocal work, including a range of dialects to breathe life into their puppets, commenting often that the puppets’ personalities took over and they, as performers, purely acted from an instinctive understanding of their puppet’s persona. The session culminated in some very comic and moving scenes.”
