WE were thrilled to welcome our Year 8 King’s Ely Junior students back into school on June 25th so that they could take part in the annual Humphries Challenge (socially distancing of course)!

The challenge is held in memory of Christopher Humphries, who had a love of outdoor learning and who was heavily involved with the school’s outdoor education programme, Ely Scheme.

Andrew Marshall, First Deputy Head at King’s Ely Junior, said: “After three months, it was a pleasure to welcome Year 8 back into school on June 25th. We have missed them!

“Their return was marked by their participation in the annual Humphries Challenge, which was modified this year to accommodate our current circumstances. Two events were held in school – a ‘Drama and Communication’ activity and a ‘Trust Trail’ set up by our Ely Scheme team. Two other events were completed remotely at home, based on logic and mapping skills.”

Congratulations to Saunders House for winning and well done to everyone who participated – it was wonderful to have you all back!
