CONGRATULATIONS to Year 10 students Conall Comley and Will Buckingham for qualifying to represent the school and the East of England at the upcoming Junior Inter-Regional Regatta (JIRR).

Conall and Will were among a number of our Year 9-11 rowers who competed in the qualifying regatta over 1,000m in Peterborough on March 24th. They showed great character and composure to win their event, securing them a place at the JIRR next month.

Strong performances were also put in by Jessica Harding in the WJ14 singles; Daniel Millard and Bertie Whymark in the J14 doubles; and Connie Hardick and Isabel Mitchell in the WJ14 doubles. The day proved a really valuable learning experience for them.

The Year 10’s also put in some very encouraging performances, with Sam Martin narrowly missing out on qualifying after finishing 4th by just 3 seconds in a very close race. Holly Burke partnered with a Bedford sculler to narrowly miss out on qualifying, finishing 2nd by just 0.9 seconds.

Well done all!
