King’s Ely sixth form students have been returning to the Old Palace today to collect their A Level results.
44% of all A2 grades achieved were A* or A and 68% were graded A*- B. Both were an improvement on last year’s figures which continued the upward trend in student achievements. Significantly, against a back-drop in which exam boards are seeking to limit the number of top grades awarded, the number of King’s students awarded A* grades increased by 6%.
Eleven students achieved three passes each at A or A* whilst Adam Hatoum, Alexander Piggott, Run Li and Christina Dong all achieved 3 A* grades and Hang Song and Zoe Zhang achieved 4 A* grades.
Adam and Alexander, as well as Madeleine Pinto and Yuki Kimura, all achieved the necessary grades to take up their Oxbridge offers. They will be joined by George Ryan and Anna-Rose Harris who are taking up their places at Oxbridge following gap years.
