Look at some of the fantastic garments and accessories that our Year 9 King’s Ely Senior pupils have created in their first term of studying Fashion and Textile Design!

Based around the theme of ‘Fashion Fusion’, students have experimented with various different construction techniques in order to then build up to a final design, which includes garments, headpieces, bags and masks.

Alison Rhodes, Director of Art at King’s Ely Senior, said: “The Year 9s have worked really productively and they have achieved some super results. From an initial still-life arrangement of natural and manmade forms, pupils have produced observational drawings exploring composition, colour, texture and methods of application in order to provide a platform for the development of their designs.

“The students then evaluated and developed their drawings into a series of design ideas, selecting the most successful to translate into a constructed fashion outcome. They documented their knowledge and understanding of different materials, processes and techniques, making notes to identify changes made. We would like to congratulate them all on their achievements.”
