A TRIO of Choristers from King’s Ely have all achieved Distinctions in Grade 8 Singing, the top award available in the highest grade.

Sixth Form students Fern Ashby, Sophie Emms and Maxine Eddleston, who is Head of King’s Ely’s Etheldreda House, were all on song for the assessments, which are provided by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).

Fern and Maxine are both members of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and all three girls spent four intensive days recording a CD with the Ely Cathedral Girls’ Choir before the start of the summer term. The CD will be released on the Regent label in 2013.
