FOUR King’s Ely students have received offers from two of the world’s most prestigious universities.

Georgia Schneider has been offered a place to read Mathematics at Selwyn College, Cambridge, and chorister Anna-Rose Harris will shortly be auditioning for a choral scholarship after being successful in her application to read Theology and Religious Studies at Cambridge’s Newnham College. Meanwhile, Jamie Huffer and Laura Day have received offers from Trinity College and Queen’s College, Oxford respectively. Jamie has accepted his unconditional offer to read Spanish, and Laura’s offer to read French and Spanish at the university has put a lifetime ambition within reach.

Assistant Director of Sixth Form, Francis Young, commented: “Entry into Oxbridge has become increasingly competitive, making this an excellent achievement for all concerned.”

Principal, Sue Freestone, added: “It’s great to see young people take a step towards the realisation of their dreams. Congratulations to Jamie, Laura, Anna-Rose and Georgia.”
