Talented swimmer, Oliver (Oli) Davey, has started the New Year in superb style by winning a haul of medals at a national competition.

Oli, who is in Year 8 at King’s Ely Junior, was competing in the Borough of Waltham Forest Swimming Club (Gators) New Year Meet at the London Aquatics Centre when he achieved eight Golds, one Silver and one Bronze.

Oli was representing Ely Swimming Club (Barracudas) in the event on January 8th. He also gained two ‘regional times’ and a superb time of 27.90 seconds for his 50-metre freestyle race. This has been recorded as an ‘official time’ by Swim England, which makes him the second fastest 13-year-old in the country for this particular stroke.

Congratulations Oli – something tells us that you might have an exciting 2023 ahead of you!
