OE Committee Bios:

Robert Le Grice: I joined King’s at age 10 in 1966 starting in the Canonry and moving to Hereward in the senior school, leaving in 1974. After 5 years working for House of Frazer, the rest of my career was at Midland /HSBC Bank in a variety of roles ending as Regional Head of Business Banking in the South East of England. I’m now retired and enjoy a diverse range of activities including singing in choirs, volunteering for National Trust & a governor of a local secondary school academy.

Kim Charter: I was at King’s Ely from the 1970 first senior school intake of girls till 1975. I have had a few careers in my life but most recently I owned a recruitment company within the social housing construction industry. I now have ‘retired’ back to my hometown of King’s Lynn to develop and revive some hobbies.

Rory Wood: I was a boarder at KSE from 1945 to 1956 and Head Boy in the final year. After National Service (Royal Artillery in Cyprus) I was employed in the City of London in the world of Finance. I was OE President twice. I am an MCC member and I have always enjoyed cricket.

Marc Hawes: I went to King’s Ely from 1971 to 1985 and then joined King’s as Head of Computing in 1997. In my spare time I like working on the family farm.

Andrew Aus: I was at King’s from 1989 to 1994, first at Queen Philippa and then Osmond. As well as studying, I played a lot of music and rugby, and followed outdoor pursuits with Ely Scheme. I went on to study physics at Imperial and Oxford, which I still keep up with, and then to work in IT Risk Management including at Philip Morris, Barclays and Ernst & Young. Having completed my MBA at Cambridge, I am now working freelance in various fields, as well as doing research in linguistics (Birkbeck) and psychology in my spare time. I very much enjoy meeting other Old Eleans.

Rosie Holliday: I started work in the Bursary in 1973 and apart from a short break following the birth of my two daughters I’ve worked there ever since. Altogether I have worked at the school for 39 years, of which I have spent 11 years as Honorary Secretary of The Old Eleans’ Club.
