A sixth former at King’s Ely has been selected to represent Scotland U18’s versus Romania later this month.

Alan Gregory, 17, has been involved within the Scottish RFU for over a year now, and played for the national side at U16 level, putting in strong performances against teams from England and Wales last Easter. After those memorable perfromanaces, he has now made the step up to U18 development squad, where he has the chance to excel against international opposition.

Head of Rugby at King’s Ely, Jason Billows has commented on the news: Alan has done incredibly well to continue his representative rugby outside of King’s. He is a player with great potential who is developing physically and his skill level has improved considerably over the past two years. He has combined his talent with hard work and practice; he deserves all the plaudits he will receive in the future”.

Alan currently plays club rugby for Cambridge RUFC, where he was selected to further his development at the Northampton Saints Junior Academy. He also trains throughout the school year in the rugby performance squad and is a valuable member of the 1st XV.
