To say that Saturday (January 14th) was a busy day for our students, staff and families who are involved in Sport would be an understatement!

Netball

We hosted a bumper, pre-season U14 to U18 Tournament, which saw more than 150 girls from King’s, Gresham’s School, Wisbech Grammar School, St Mary’s School Cambridge and CCNA – Cambridgeshire County Netball Association taking to the courts. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you all and well done to every single girl who played.

Football

Six matches in total against Oundle School, which resulted in a mix of wins, draws, and losses, but plenty of strong individual performances for King’s.

Hockey

Pre-season training for the boys ahead of their upcoming fixtures and fast-approaching county tournament.

Cross Country

Eleven of our Junior and Senior pupils competed at the Cambridgeshire Schools Cross Country Championships in St Neots. Well done to Stephanie Birkwood, Rowley Black, Harry Green, Juliette Hames, Oliver Loveday, Claudia Mallan-Stoute, Hettie Robson, Alexandria Styles, Ianthe Wilding, Zac Williams-Gray, and Alastair Wright for giving it their all on the day.

Congratulations to Oliver, Stephanie, Alastair, Alexandria and Juliette for securing top 14 places, which automatically qualifies them for the next round – the Anglian Schools Cross Country Championships in Northamptonshire in February.

Rowing

Strong winds prevented rowers from getting out on to the water, so they headed into the gym for a gruelling session on the ergo machines instead.
