Our Year 6 pupils have written postcards in German to send to their new pen pals!

The Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) programme at King’s Ely Junior sees Year 6s getting a flavour of three foreign languages – a different one each term. In the Michaelmas Term, they learnt Spanish; this term they are learning German; and in the Summer Term they will be learning French.

Lorraine Oldham, our Key Stage 2 MFL Coordinator, has forged links with Heisenberg-Gymnasium Bruchsal, and as a result, all our Year 6s now have German pen pals to write to. So far, it is proving to be a great way for the children to practise some of the new greetings and phrases they are learning.

Pupils will also be competing in the Oxford German Network Olympiad this term!
