GIRLS boarding in King’s Ely’s Hill House have raised over £1,000 for Breast Cancer Care, their chosen charity of the year.

Thanks to a host of fundraising events and activities over the last 12 months, including tuck shops, cake sales and sponsored events, the house raised an impressive £800 for the charity. The annual Strawberry Teas fair bumped the total up to £1,050.

The girls, their Housemistress, Carly Aldous-Juneau, Matron, Christine Whitmore, and Principal of King’s Ely, Sue Freestone, welcomed Breast Cancer Care volunteer, Diana Barden, into the school to collect the donation.

Head of House, Connie Wynn (18), said : “We chose to support Breast Cancer Care because it is particularly important to us as a house of young women,” adding: “We are delighted that Diana could come to the house to meet us all and collect the cheque.”
