TEENAGER Christopher Le won a Silver medal at the Tae Kwon Do English Championships, which took place at the Skydome Arena in Coventry at the end of last term.

As the competition is an open event, the 15 year old King’s Ely student had to fight against 17 to 18 year old, second-dan black belt opponents from all over the country. After four exciting and exhausting rounds, Christopher got into the final to win his Silver medal in the Cadet Light-Heavyweight division.

The medal is the latest addition to an already impressive collection of Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, which Christopher has achieved at various regional and national Tae Kwon Do events.

Christopher’s Housemaster at King’s Ely, James Robinson, said: “After winning a Bronze medal at the regional event, this is an excellent result for Christopher, particularly as he remains so committed to his studies.”

The event was organised by the Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain (TAGB), Europe’s largest single martial arts organisation.
