“This week’s cultural celebrations for Chinese New Year and our Burns Night Dinner at school led to a range of discussions and events taking place amongst the children. The global perspective that our varied and diverse community creates was evident for much of the week, and we hope that you enjoyed some of the seasonal cultural celebrations at home also.

“Next week, we have Year 5 and Year 6 children heading into their assessment weeks, and our final entrance candidates for September visiting for their entry tests. It is also King’s Ely’s International Week and so more special activities will be taking place across the school. On Saturday 4th February, we will be welcoming boys and girls to Sing! which is a chorister recruitment event being held in the Cathedral.

“Slightly further ahead, in Week 5, we have ‘Safer Internet Day’ and ‘Bikeability’ for Year 5 (so this is a timely reminder now to ensure that bicycles are in good order and ready for dropping off between 5pm and 6pm at school on Sunday 5th February!)

“With our best wishes for what looks set to be a warmer weekend ahead.”
