“Our first week of the New Year at school saw all of us waking up the school routines and picking up the pace after a restful break over Christmas and New Year. Activities, as well as drama rehearsals, sport sessions after school, music ensembles, and all the open clubs on offer will all be added into the mix from Monday. We are set to enjoy a very busy time over the coming weeks at school.

“As you may have appreciated from Annika Hakansson’s email launching our bookings this week, we are planning on using a new system for the Summer Term. We are optimistic that there will be greater range in our offerings and less pressure for parents to book within moments as the new system opens. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing the children throwing themselves into all that is on offer this term.

“Next week will see more assessments taking place for children seeking to secure a place at King’s for September. January is always a busy time of year for the Admissions Team, with entrance tests and Year 8 into 9 Scholarship Assessments taking place. Further to my previous call, please remind any of your contacts looking to send children that we are assessing within January for September 2023 entrants. Mr Tappin and the Admissions Team will be keen to act speedily if there are any late expressions of interest to come.

“It was lovely to welcome some of the Year 3 parents and carers to tea yesterday and we are keenly anticipating the other year group social gatherings on Thursday afternoons this term. Please keep a watch for your invitation to arrive! We hope to also see many of you at the Key Stage 2 Information Evening, where some of our core teaching methodologies will be explained. That event is taking place on Wednesday 18th January from 6.30pm in the Morbey Hall.

“Best wishes for a welcome rest before the next busy week at school.”
