THE Nursery at King’s Ely Acremont is launching the new school year with a brand new toddler room.

Due to the success of the Little Ones, which provides exclusive childcare to children aged one to two, the independent school has expanded its provision for this age group to take 15 children.

The Little Ones now have the whole of the top floor of the Nursery, which includes a ‘home from home’ nurturing room for the youngest children, the newly refurbished room for toddlers who are confidently walking and a creative room for messy play. This is staffed by five experienced and qualified members of staff.

Anna Ballanger, Head of Early Years Foundation Stage at King’s Ely Acremont, added: “The children also make full use of the extensive outdoor area, which includes the beautiful school field as well as their own fully-equipped toddler playground. A specialist baby yoga teacher and music teacher provide weekly sessions, and the children take part in garden days, cookery sessions and whole school occasions such as dressing up for pirate day. The Little Ones also enjoy regular outings into Ely in the pushchairs and can often be seen visiting the market to choose flowers to plant in their garden, looking around the cathedral and watching the ducks.”

Provision for two to three-year olds has also expanded. The Plus Twos are now based in a new room downstairs in the Nursery, enabling them to free flow inside or outside as they wish.

The Little Ones room opened in September last year, enabling King’s Ely to provide forward-thinking independent education to boys and girls aged 1 to 18.
