TWO teams and one individual represented King’s Ely at the county dressage qualifier held at the College of West Anglia in Milton, Cambridge, last week.

The team comprising Eleanor Fairey, Thea Holdaway, Phoebe Plumb and Rebecca Everitt all rode the British Dressage Preliminary 12 in the first class and British Dressage Novice 24 in the second class.

A second place in the preliminary class resulted in a qualification for NSEA County Dressage Championships at Bury Farm in April. There were also individual successes for Eleanor Fairey and Thea Holdaway with a 4th and 6th place respectively.

The team won the Novice class, seeing individual successes again for Thea Holdaway, who achieved a 5th place, and Phoebe Plumb, who secured 6th place.

Freia Gould won the novice class and has qualified as an individual for the Championships.

“Success in the county dressage compliments the showjumping team who qualified for the championships before Christmas,” said manager Sue Cameron, adding: “King’s Ely will be representing Cambridgeshire in four classes at the County Championships in April, which is quite an impressive achievement for a small group of riders, some of whom will competing in both disciplines.”
